Biotène Oral Balance Gel, Biotène Dry Mouth Oral Rinse and Biotène Dry Mouth Moisturizing Mouth Spray contain a high concentration of moisturizers and lubricants that provide oral moisturization. One of these Dry Mouth key ingredients is glycerol, which acts by forming chemical bonds with water molecules to moisturize underlying tissue by retaining water in the mouth.

Biotène gel, rinse, and spray have a pH within the range of 6.0–7.8.
This helps to maintain a close-to-neutral pH in the mouth, which is a healthier environment for the teeth and oral soft tissues (target normal resting pH 6.3–7.0).
