NOVAMIN (Calcium Sodium Phosphosilicate) is specially formulated in Sensodyne Repair & Protect helps to repair exposed dentin:*1,2
- Once in contact with saliva, NOVAMIN initiates a cascade of ionic exchanges
- This results in a rise in pH level in the localised environment, which allows NOVAMIN to bind to collagen fibres in exposed dentin
- Once bound to dentin, NOVAMIN particles act as calcium and phosphate reservoirs, forming a robust and reparative hydroxyapatite-like layer over exposed dentin tubules to help protect against dentin hypersensitivity pain
